What is Co-Creation?

Art has always been co-created. We just stopped giving people credit for it.

There are three structures for how artists make and release their work.

The first is the label. They fund everything, own everything, and control everything. The artist creates, but rarely leads.

The second is independent. The artist owns everything, but carries everything alone. The risk, the cost, the distribution. All of it.

I am introducing a third: Co-Creation, where creation comes to life through collaborative effort: God provides the vision, a patron seeds the vision, a team of creators builds it, and a community brings it into the world. Every party has a role. Every party gets credit.
